Countdown to Distance Learning Live!

Hello Serra Family--

I only wrote you two days ago but there is more information for you to know as we move forward. First is I am anticipating communication on the reopening of the district early this week; usually what happens is we get called to a meeting and around the same time the press has already found out and is reporting. I know nothing more than what I have communicated to you and will always stay transparent. As soon as I know, you will know and I will communicate with you. These next few weeks will be fast and Serra will be ready for learning. The last few days I have received a lot of emails about not being able to come to packet pick up for various reasons. There will be make up days TBD after that week. Incoming freshman MUST provide proof of residency; failure to do so means you packet is held and not processed. Lastly, I need to make sure those of you that either come on the scheduled days or come the week after that:

  1. You can not come if you have been on vacation--meaning not in your home--many of you are telling me you are out of state or out of San Diego County that week.

  2. You need to send the person in the household who is the least risk to others to get the packet.

  3. You will not be allowed out of your cars and you will have to have a mask on. If you have gloves please wear them or use hand sanitizer as you pull up if possible.

If anyone on my staff contracts the disease during this interaction; school reopening will be compromised even though it's starting online. Failure to comply with PPE or staying in the vehicle will result in you not receiving your packet. We are coming to work to serve you and help and do so willingly and because it is the call of duty but please meet us half way as many of us have elderly in our homes.

We are still working on the Handbook, Weekly schedule of to do's, and the bridge programs.

Here are the highlights for this upcoming week and next:
