A great week in the House of SHS! Today is Pink Out Day so wear your pink tonight at the football game! It is our last home game against Hoover High School at 6:30 and Senior Night starts at 6pm. In our gym we have Volleyball Senior night, starting at 4:30 pm. This week we had Senior and Junior Parent Information Night put on by our counseling staff and we have a Senior Night make-up on Monday at 6pm in the Media Center. We had an amazing Homecoming where well over 600 kids attended. We had delicious beignet's cooked for our students, and kids had an amazing time. Recently, we are getting many emails talking about how people feel a really big positive shift in our school climate. Staff here is feeling it as well. What an amazing time to be a student at SHS! Also P1 grades are being turned in. If your child is not doing as well as they can, please reach out to your child's teacher and ask for a conference or to observe the class or shadow your student.
NOTE: SATURDAY SCHOOL TOMORROW IS CANCELLED DUE TO TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES WITH OUR SYSTEM. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR STUDENTS TO SHS TOMORROW.

We need your help!
SHS is looking for parent volunteers to help with campus observation. The more eyes we have on campus, the safer and more of a deterrent it is for students to choose behavior that is not acceptable. If you are interested in donating your time, we could use you. We are looking for people to stand at gates and also be in the media center at lunch so we can open it for students.
If you are interested please email Vice Principal, Nicholas Willis at nwillis@sandi.net. It takes a village. This is not you "busting kids"--that is our job! Think of it like neighborhood watchdog group! You just watch and report. We will give you a cool radio to use!

Monday: Make-up Senior Night at 6pm
Tuesday: Sophomore Parent Night at 6pm and Governance Meeting at 2:30pm.
Wednesday: Financial Aid presentation for ANYONE who wants to attend; PSAT for all 10-11 graders will be administered on campus.
Thursday: Freshman Parent Night at 6PM in the media center; California Shakeout at 10am.
Friday: High School Nation Lunch Performance

Counseling:
Please make sure you are attending your child's Grade Level Parent Night. SENIOR parents, please make sure you sign and return your child's Senior Contract which has already gone out to your student. Please review it carefully. Senior parents, the contract also includes name verification for your student's diploma. You only get one copy of the diploma so you need to make sure you have it printed correctly. Here is a link to a copy of the contract if you haven't seen or signed it.

Girls Basketball: I am honored to announce the hiring today of Sade' Wiley-Gatewood. She will be making decisions on the rest of her staff as we progress into the season. Welcome, Sade'!
Girls Soccer: I am honored to say that out of all the applicants we had three that were at the top of their class. It was a hard decision so I have decided to use some funding I have and hire all three. Welcome Georges Nedellec, Greg Allick, and Lisa (returning JV Coach): Each of these coaches has a unique set of skills and expertise and we are very excited to see what the ladies can do this year!
