This year into the next!

Hello Rattler Community,

It hard to believe how fast the year is going. Grades are posted for the semester on PowerSchool ready for you to view!!!!

We are in a very crucial time for the school where we start talking about next year. We have just started the budgeting process for next year and there is a survey below to help us prioritize funding. Our master schedule is starting to be built; as you know it takes 6 plus months to build as it is very complex which is why we give you multiple opportunities before the start of school next year to change your mind. Once the school year opens there are no schedule changes. Your child will receive several drafts of their schedule and meet with the counselors to talk about their choices and options. There is a lot to do to prepare all while starting to prep for the end of this year.

Summer School:

In regards to that CHHS understand that the last few years have been hard. We also understand that your child may not have done as well as they should have and we totally understand that. CHHS asked the Board to consider adding CHHS to the summer school list and they agreed. Usually we switch off with Henry High. We will be having summer school and the time to register is now.

Here is the information:

Here are the forms:

Google Form to sign up for summer school:

There will be several announcements next week in regards to graduation etc. Grad Night is in the Booster section at the bottom of this blog and please remember that this is a NON-school event.

Principals Coffee: Principals Coffee was this morning. In case you missed it here it is:

Saturday School:

We have to cancel Saturday School for tomorrow as less than 5 students shoed up. There are hundreds of students that should be attending. Please sign your child up or have them do it themselves.

The following link is on the CHHS webpage as well under STUDENTS:

COVID: COVID Testing is on Thursdays and only for staff and students that test weekly. If you are out with COVID or sick or out on protocol--You can't show up here to test. That defeats the purpose of spreading COVID on school grounds. Please go to the testing center at 4100 Normal Street OR the near McDonald's in the Tierrasanta Town Center at 10585 Tierrasanta Blvd from 8am-6:30pm.

Here is your weekly COVID case letter:

We need your help:

The budget for CHHS is starting to be created and it can't be done without your voice. This data helps guide the SSC in allocating funds for students. Please fill this survey out and have your voice heard.

  1. Please complete this Needs Assessment Survey. We need everyone’s input as we enter into a new phase of next year’s Goals and Budget development.

Masks must be worn at all times.

The BIG Question:

Masks: What mask exactly does my student need to wear as some masks are hard to come by. SDUSD recommends but does not require N95 and KN94--however, a surgical mask is fine and a cloth mask will be ok.

SENIORS

Do you have a Senior? Well CHHS has a Booster Club so you can stay up to date on things and events pertaining to them:

The Canyon Hills/Serra Parent Class Boosters is a parent organization that supports your student's graduating class with activities and events not typically sponsored by the school. As your student approaches senior year, through fundraising and donations, this group helps offset the cost and implement activities like grad-night, prom, senior luncheon, graduation venue, powder-puff, and more.
